For basketball, the Board has chosen to waive the handbook requirement (4.3.1(e)) that one of the four allowable games in a two-week period be played on a non-school day, providing additional local scheduling flexibility. It will be a crunch for some schools to get in all of their scheduled basketball contests before they playoffs.
The NCHSAA will continue to monitor conditions statewide and work closely with member schools to address remaining challenges. Any additional changes will be communicated as soon as they are finalized and approved by the Board. of Directors.
