NCHSAA cancels diving regionals, shifts wrestling playoff dates following winter storm

The N.C. High School Athletic Association has adjusted some of its plans in response to the winter storm that impacted much of the state.

The diving component of the swimming and diving regionals has been cancelled. The divers who qualified for the regionals will advance to the state championships, which are currently set for Wednesday, Feb. 4.

With a new winter storm on the horizon for this weekend, the NCHSAA Board of Directors is planning to convene later on Wednesday to make a final determination on the regional swimming championships. The swimming regionals had been scheduled to take place from January 29-31.

The schedule for the first four rounds of the dual team wrestling playoffs has also been adjusted.

Now, the first and second rounds will be held on Tuesday, February 3. The third and fourth rounds are now set for Thursday, February 5.

The date for the dual team state championships has not been adjusted. The state finals will take place on Saturday, February 7.

The reporting deadline for the boys and girls individual wrestling playoffs is on Thursday at 3:00 p.m.
